I’m not sure that situation means: (a) has two insurance (yours) and another person. or (2) that is on the insurance of someone (like your parents) and want to know if they will find out. (1) The hospital is unlikely to investigate further. It’s just a problem for them. The entity to be investigated is the insurance company. They will send the papers to ask if you have other insurance. If you lie and they find out, do not have to pay the bill. (2) In the situation where you are on some other insurance, the policyholder will receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) which explains what the insurance company pay only. So when my daughter was 16 and her doctor told her she did not have to tell me she was going on birth control, yet I have an EOB and was able to deduce that if the insurance company made a payment to a physician behalf of my daughter who was very likely something to do with birth control.

Like, your spouse? Yes, as the insurance company sends a statement to your spouse if he is the policyholder, to tell them how much they paid. As the employer of your spouse? No, if the insurance is through an employer, the employer does not know when you file a claim.

Yes, if you are dependent on another person’s insurance, the insurer is required by law to send the policyholder an “Explanation of Benefits” which tells how much the policy holder services cost, the amount of supply that have been negotiated with the supplier, the amount of deductible and co-payment that was and how much in benefits were paid to the supplier on behalf of asegurado.Suena as if you’re like an ex-spouse is still on the insurance of your former spouse and you do not want they know what pasó.Usted has one thing in your favor in that caso.La explanation of benefits, while being an explanation, not necessarily very detallada.Sólo might say, consulting services or medical or laboratory test , but I will not say “HIV Testing” or “treatment of herpes” or something estilo.Debido the law, you can not hide the fact that he used some of the benefits of the insured.

If you are a dependent of another person’s insurance (ie, parents or spouse) who probably will know when they get the EOB (explanation of benefits) of seguro.Si you’re worried about your employer find out about a hospital bill – nothing happens. The federal HIPAA laws prevent it.
